Shirley Forrest

Shirley died April 21,2024. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Irene Steiner on October 31, 1930, the second youngest of 8 children.  She married William Forrest on June 26, 1954, and they moved to California in 1957.

Shirley and Bill moved to Marin Valley Mobile Country Club in 1983.  She worked for Fireman’s Fund Ins. Co. for 17 years and retired in 1996.  In 1993 her husband Bill passed away after 39 years of marriage.  Following her retirement from Fireman’s Fund Ins. Co. Shirley worked for ten years as Office Manager for the Marin Valley Mobile Home Park, where she lived. She truly loved this job.

Shirley is survived by her five children: Joan (and Dave), Bill, Pat, Katy, John (and Traci) and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lou and her husband Hank.

She was active in St. Isabella’s Parish for over 38 years, a CCD teacher for two years and a Eucharistic Minister for the sick for 22 years. Most recently she was a member of St Anthony’s Parish in Novato.

Shirley enjoyed family gatherings, social affairs and going to garage sales and thrift shops was a favorite past time. She will be missed greatly.
